The kangaroo t-shirt is an amazing 3-1!
Use it as a skin-to-skin baby carrier for newborns (up to 20lbs - 9 kg), a nursing top, and a post-partum support garment for your belly!
You can easily slip baby in, as with any other stretch wrap. The stretchy side shirring adds comfort to mother and baby. Baby’s back and bum are supported by 3 strips of fabric for a strong tight fit. Baby can safely fall asleep, thanks to the "head restraint" system (stretch neckline facings above baby's head). Another big advantage is that this t-shirt allows a quick and discreet breastfeeding.
Solidly made from a high-density combed cotton/spandex blend. The Skin-to-Skin Kangaroo T-shirt is made of good quality high density stretch cotton / spandex jersey without chemical and heavy metal contamination. Cotton is hypoallergenic, breathable, non-slip, absorbs moisture and is easy to sterilize, if necessary. Top quality sewing (14 points per inch) for durability. A stretch facing supports neck and / or baby's head without compressing.
MADE IN CANADA. SAFETY TESTED AND PATENTED.
Available in:
Black    Cobalt Blue   Jade       Coral

Lagoon Blue     Orchid Pink

* If measurements are on the border, choose a larger size (so baby can grow into it. Please make sure it is not overly big as you still need the top to be tight and snug).
POSITION OF THE NEWBORN FOR SKIN-TO-SKIN - AND BABY CARRYING

For the newborn baby, it can be left in the fetal position, legs curled up on itself. Thereafter, the "frog" (sitting-squatting) position is recommended: rounded back, but leg bent up (knees above the buttocks, aproximatively at belly button height). This is the most natural position for the baby when snuggling against us.

Inside the garment: The garment should fit snugly to provide good support. You should feel that the baby's weight is evenly distributed without pressure points. The fabric should support the back, shoulders, and buttocks up under the knees. The head should also be supported if you get up. Airways must be clear and visible at all times, the chin should not touch his chest (chin up). The ideal height: mum should be able to kiss baby.
How to put baby in and out of garment

While it is well positioned, your baby can fall asleep snuggled up against you. Make sure that:

- BABY'S AIRWAYS ARE CLEAR AND HE/SHE IS BREATHING NORMALLY.

- THE THREE LAYERS OF FABRIC ARE COVERING HIS/HER BUTT, BACK AND SHOULDERS.

Caution you must take when wearing the baby in a garment:

- Make sure the position is not too "relaxed" (too rounded back), and check if support is well spread from below the knee to the other.

- Always make sure the baby is breathing normally, the airway must never be obstructed.

- Avoid heat stroke. Be on the lookout for signs of discomfort, especially if it is a very warm day. Heat rash, wet hair, are the signs.

- Don't sleep, do sports or cook with baby inside the garment. Avoid any situation where a fall could occur.

- Make sure the garment is always clean (wash before first wear) and in good condition. If a seam is about to open, discontinue the use of carrier or garment.

Note: The care of premies, low-weight babies or babies with health problems should always be under the supervision of a qualified health professional. Make sure you have consulted your healthcare professional prior to using skin-to-skin garments.
